Matt Nguyen (2011) serves as Special Assistant Attorney General and principal civil rights advisor to California Attorney General Rob Bonta. In this role, Matt oversees California’s litigation, legislative, policy, and federal accountability priorities on voting rights, racial justice, gender and LGBTQ+ equality, disability rights, children’s justice, education rights, hate crimes, and police accountability. He also serves our nation in uniform as a Captain Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve. After graduating salutatorian from UC Berkeley, Matt earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
